Community groups across Hawke have received thousands of dollars from the Albanese Labor Government to support the efforts of their volunteers under the Volunteer Grants program.
Local volunteers put in countless hours to make our community a better place to live, whether it’s through sporting clubs, neighbourhood houses, community groups and so much more – they give so much back to our community.
Funded projects include equipment purchases, training costs, fuel and travel costs for volunteers, events promoting volunteerism and more.
35 groups in Hawke were successful, including the Combined Churches Melton Foodbank who received $4000 to fund fuel and transport costs for volunteers, a high-pressure cleaner, a scissor trolley and vacuums.
Michelle from Melton Foodbank said “this funding will mean we can continue to deliver for our clients, and give back to our dedicated volunteers.”
Federal Member for Hawke Sam Rae said “our local volunteers do so much for us. This funding is all about helping them to continue their good work.”
