The Albanese Government has delivered on its election commitment to open an Urgent Care Centre in Sunbury earlier this year, and now its hours are being extended to accommodate the needs of the community.
The Sunbury Urgent Care Clinic is now open 7 days a week, 14 hours a day – delivering on the promise to expand the clinic to operate during extended hours. This will mean the Urgent Care Clinic can see more patients, more often.
Located at the Goonawarra Medical Centre, there is no need to book an appointment. All services are fully bulk billed and provided by highly trained doctors and nurses.
Sam Rae, Federal Member for Hawke said “I heard loud and clear from Sunbury residents that we need more local health services in our community – that’s why we took the promise to deliver Sunbury Urgent Care Clinic to the last election.”
“Having the Sunbury Urgent Care Clinic open 7 days a week, 14 hours a day will mean more local families get the care they need closer to home.”
More than 1,000 patients have received care at the Sunbury Urgent Care Clinic since it opened in June, taking a burden off of local families who would have otherwise had to wait for treatment in a hospital emergency department.
The Albanese Government is taking real action to strengthen Medicare – opening our Medicare Urgent Care Clinics is the first step.
