An Albanese Labor Government will partner with Hume City Council and commit $250,000 to progress the Ligar Street Upgrade, improving connections for commuters in the heart of Sunbury.
In recent years, Sunbury has evolved to become a growing urban centre with a population of over 40,000.
By partnering with Hume City Council, an Albanese Labor Government will provide funding to upgrade the street between Cornish Street and Gap Road. Labor’s $250,000 investment will be matched by Hume City Council to ensure locals get the best outcome.
As a priority project of Hume City Council, this project has been identified because it will decrease the amount of time local residents spend in their cars, while supporting safe passage for people travelling across the town.
This project will include works to upgrade the road pavement along Ligar Street which will include improvements to road, cyclist and pedestrian safety.
Not only will this project benefit local residents, but it will also improve the area for local businesses and community groups who use the facilities in this area.
Only a Federal Labor Government will deliver this essential road upgrade for Sunbury.
