Christmas came early for the Ballan District Vintage Machinery & Vehicle Club Inc, with funding on the way from the Albanese Labor Government.
The Club will receive $1,625 under the National Shed Development Programme to upgrade their workspace to promote the health and safety of members.
There are around 1,300 Men’s Sheds across Australia offering thousands of men of all ages a safe place to meet, socialise, connect, and engage in meaningful community work.
Federal Member for Hawke Sam Rae said “Santa came early for the Ballan crew – this funding will go a long way to help them upgrade their facility.”
“Men’s Sheds plays a valuable role in improving health and wellbeing of local men, countering the isolation that some in our community experience – especially at this time of year.”
The Australian Men’s Shed Association will open applications for the next round of the National Shed Development Programme on 15 January 2024. Sheds will be able to submit general applications until 23 February 2024, and applications for defibrillators until 22 March 2024.
